The Team

System Integration & Verification is a multidisciplinary technical team (~30 people) that is responsible for system integration and verification of large-scale system projects like Titan microscopes. Our team is involved in multiple large-scale system programs in parallel. Besides system integration and verification for regular products we also work on Non-Standard Requests to deliver customer specific solutions.

The Position

Major contribution and ownership to the integration aspects of complex new hardware and software projects and System Owner of at least one R&D Microscope. The responsibilities and tasks are:

As System Engineer - Project Member

  • Provide input during the specification and design phase of new products.
  • Execute system tests or guide others in executing tests.
  • Owner or contributor for FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis)
  • Troubleshoot integration issues and report/discuss with designers/PL; suggest improvements to existing prototypes; discuss technical bottlenecks in projects.
  • Maintain an R&D TEM (Transmission Electron Microscopy) system in the best possible working condition to facilitate the project.

As System Engineer – System Owner

  • System Planning: manage your system planning in cooperation with system users and projects, keep the planning up to date.
  • System Status:
    • build-up, rebuild, place and replace the microscope system based on projects and lab manager needs.
    • help and train system users if requested or needed.
    • control the system accessories and gain knowledge if needed.

Your Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess the following combination of education and experience:

  • Bachelor or master’s degree in mechanical, Electronics or Mechatronic engineering.
  • Experience with designing and testing of low volume, complex high-tech systems.
  • At least 5 years of experience as system owner of complex system, system tester of complex system.
  • Experience with the different development disciplines (hardware, software).
  • Excellent communication skills in English, Dutch is big plus.
