Our international clients have to deal with dynamic, complex business flows and rapidly changing indirect tax legislation. Our team advises on how their ERP systems can be set up to facilitate these continuous changes. In order to avoid risks and manual corrections at the end of a reporting period, we see that more and more companies choose to expand their standard ERP functionalities and implement an indirect tax engine so they can manage their indirect tax position better.

For our expanding team, we are looking for a Senior Indirect Tax Engine Specialist. Do you enjoy helping clients to find the best possible solution, do you have knowledge of and experience in implementing Indirect Tax Engines and do you think that PwC suits you as an employer? Then keep reading!

What will your work involve?

Within our team, we often work in project teams, consisting of staff from both the client and PwC. The colleagues in our team have different areas of expertise, e.g. project managers, Indirect Tax/VAT experts, developers and functional consultants. Everyone has their own role, but in the end we deliver the solution together and are jointly responsible for providing the client with the best solution.

In these project teams, we work on projects to optimise ERP systems relating to Indirect Tax/VAT, in particular involving the implementation of an Indirect Tax Engine. These are often projects that last a few months and you will be working on several projects at once.

Within your role, you will be responsible for leading the Indirect Tax Engine implementation projects at clients, working together with other members of our team.

During these projects, you will be the linking pin between the client’s tax team, IT/technical department and the business. You will be closely involved in discussions with clients to better understand their business processes, needs and way of working which enables you to propose and implement the most appropriate Indirect Tax Engine solution fitting the specific client’s situation. For leading successful client conversations in this respect, it is crucial that you have solid knowledge around Indirect Tax Engines as well as Indirect taxes/VAT.

We are an international team, and we usually have international clients, so the working language in our team is English. Apart from COVID-19 restrictions, a large part of the work can be done from our office, but it is occasionally necessary to visit the client (sometimes abroad). Apart from COVID-19 restrictions, we as a team also offer the opportunity to work from home one or more days a week.

Who are you?

  • You have a university background in economics, business, fiscal law, fiscal economics or IT;
  • You are familiar, on a conceptual level, with ERP systems such as SAP and/or Oracle;
  • You have conceptual and functional knowledge of Indirect Tax Engines (e.g. Vertex and/or OneSource);
  • You have a good understanding of indirect taxes and the integration with ERP systems and Tax Engines;
  • You have at least 3 years of proven experience in Indirect Tax Engine implementation projects;
  • You are familiar with the financial, sales and purchasing business processes of a company;
  • You have an excellent command of the English language, verbally and in writing, the Dutch language is a pre;
  • You are analytical, punctual and can work independently under pressure;
  • You enjoy working in a team to tackle challenging international projects;

What do we offer?

  • Many training and courses that contribute to your personal and professional development, such as: our three day international 'Altitude' training, which focuses on developing leadership skills. It helps you reflect on your behaviour, your values, growth and leadership. This is also the perfect opportunity to make connections with PwC colleagues from foreign offices;
  • An appropriate salary and extensive employment benefits. These benefits include a 'well-being budget'. This is a personal yearly budget of €750,- that you can spend on your health, e.g., mindfulness, sports, lifestyle coaching, a second screen for your home office and noise cancelling headphones;
  • Monthly internet allowance;
  • A lease car or car allowance, laptop and an iPhone;
  • 30 holiday days per year;
  • Informal and interesting (virtual) events with colleagues, such as: team quizzes, games, virtual drinks, and more - you can suggest some as well!
