The IT Project Coordinator: Service Infrastructure is a member of the Operations Engineering group within the operations organization at Thermo Fisher.
In this role you will ensure smooth introduction of cloud solutions, providing our customers with easy remote data storage over an integrated network.
You use your expertise in networking work primarily with R&D and Service to build and strengthen our service model for digital solutions.
You will represent Manufacturing and Service by taking ownership for product requirements, monitoring the design phase and setting up test and installation of the SW and hardware. It is your responsibility to provide all the vital training and support for our field service engineers.
Specific results associated with this position include:
Engage with software designers early in the Product Management Process (PMP) for new SW Solutions and the hardware to it. Specific attention will be placed on design for testability, reliability, sustainability and serviceability by defining and agreeing system specifications. In this phase your will interact mostly with our R&D department; Work closely with hardware/software suppliers, SLA management, License management;
Evaluate existing applications and platforms, give recommendations for enhancing performance via gap analysis, identifying the most practical alternative solutions and assisting with modifications;
Make software modules ready for production and service use. Develop and maintain appropriate system documentation and procedures;
Validate and implement automated deployments through the use of configuration management technology;
Provide second line field support by troubleshooting hardware, application, server and network issues; Identify root causes and provide permanent fixes;
Validation of remote SW for release.

Experience with virtualization like VMWare infrastructure
Experience with servers, networking, storage i.e HPE
Experience with Microsoft Windows Server and Linux server OS
Knowledge of scripting languages like bash, phyton PowerShell
Experience with analyze/monitoring tools like Elasticsearch, Kibana, Grafana
Experience with incident management process
Problem solver skills and analytical in your approaches
Experience in optimizing guidelines, work instructions and procedures
Nice to have:
