Xbox Studios Quality is looking for a passionate, systems thinking, experienced individual to lead and manage the Quality Team for a franchise within the Xbox Game Studios portfolio. You’re a people first, long term thinker, who strives to drive improvements into the people, processes, and technologies for your team, organization, and studio partners.

You’ll be leading the effort to empower your teams to improve efficiency and better prevent, measure, detect, and communicate problems across a franchise, both in well-established titles and exciting new ventures. Simultaneously you’ll be driving the quality perspective with our Xbox Game Studios partners, making key decisions that weave together information across the franchise, impacting our player experiences from design, process workflows, development processes, marketing, services, community teams, deployment and support. This will leverage your strong communication and strategic thinking skills.

Your core responsibility will be helping grow and empower your project teams through owning and iterating on quality strategies across the franchise, helping to enable and shape the direction of each of the project teams, composed of multiple disciplines, including Quality Analysts, Quality Engineers, Quality Leads, Software Engineers, and Data Scientists. As our products and release schedules increase exponentially in complexity, you’ll look for opportunities to employ new/existing processes, technologies, and advanced data techniques across titles, striving to create a sustainable and scalable framework for the teams to operate in, all with the goal of creating the best product for our players.

Being part of Studios Quality creates a huge opportunity to level up across all of Xbox Game Studios. You will work with other Quality Managers to share learnings and insights from both success and failure as well as establish long-term strategies for the Quality organization. Through this collaboration you’ll work to improve processes, technology, and techniques across all of the titles we support.



  • Manage, lead, and grow an inclusive organization of diverse individuals through recruiting, coaching, and teaching
  • Drive the holistic Quality efforts for a franchise with multiple projects being developed in worldwide locations
  • Leverage technology – tools, automation, advanced data techniques – to increase productivity and team member impact
  • Evolve and further a data first, customer obsessed, quality culture both with the Quality team and with key partner teams
  • Develop sustainable and scalable testing strategies that are focused on the long term
  • Foster strong partnerships across disciplines and organizational boundaries, including studio engineering, production, art, design, community, operations, and business development
  • Manage, improve on, and promote cross team projects and work directed at fulfilling the long-term vision and goals of the Xbox Studios Organization
  • Be a key member of the Studios Quality Leadership team, working to drive improvements in processes and technology across the entire organization


We need someone that:

  • Is passionate about games and the players who play them
  • Enjoys mentoring and growing a team
  • Has a joy of learning, growing, and finding new ways to solve problems

Who has:

  • Experience managing or directing a test or quality team for a franchise through multiple product ship cycles
  • Established track record of representing and pushing for the player and customer, whether that customer is an internal partner or the player of the product
  • Proven history of using data, statistics, telemetry systems, etc., to inform and generate decisions and evaluations about product quality
  • History of leveraging and implementing creative technological solutions that increase their team’s impact
  • Ability to use systems thinking by looking at the larger, end to end problem space, integration points, dependencies, and then use that to assess risk and adjust strategy as a result
  • Strong interpersonal skills and excellent written and oral communication capabilities, able to work across time zones, regions, cultures, disciplines, and personalities
