Principal Program Manager Lead

About the Position

You would join as a PM Manager leading the team responsible for covering core feature areas for Microsoft Teams Rooms (MTR) Premium Managed Services. Feature areas that include incidents, updates, reporting and insights. You will lead a team of experienced PMs who drive significant parts of our team’s overall charter.


Key Responsibilities include:

  • Product Definition: Lead a team of Program Managers in defining the next wave of innovations in the core of the MTR-P Managed Services. Guide the team to translate customer needs into strong end customer experiences (with the help of design).
  • Partner with Engineering Managers: Work closely with the Engineering Managers to deliver the service experience and be accountable for the results.
  • Business strategy and customer advocacy: Work with the leadership team to define and communicate the service strategy. Drive customer advocacy into the product development cycle.
  • Planning and Execution: Leverage understanding of engineering rhythm so that the team operates cohesively. Proven ability to plan, organize, and manage complex technical product deliverables.
  • Communication: Able to conduct insightful, multi-faceted conversations with business and technical decision makers inside and outside Microsoft.
  • Collaboration: Proven ability to work effectively across broad teams and influence stakeholders of all levels and disciplines across Microsoft.
  • Cultural Leadership: Strong manager and coaching ability, having a positive impact on team morale and fostering an environment of inclusion. This will be your most important task.


Job Qualifications Required qualifications for this role:

  • 10+ years of program management / technical product management experience
  • 5+ years of experience managing people
  • Customer obsession and empathy
  • Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Track record of successfully driving large scale projects with cross-company and/or industry stakeholders
  • Track record of building healthy, happy, high functioning teams, including recruiting and retaining diverse talent
  • Experience building commercial enterprise cloud services
