Sr. Business Program Manager

Do you have a passion for making sure customers get the right price, for the right things, at the right time? Do you believe Pricing is a perfect blend between art and science? We’re looking for a Senior Business Program Manager to lead and manage global pricing strategies for all Microsoft commercial products distributed WW through our Direct and Indirect Commercial go to market (GTM) sales motions. The Global Pricing Team realizes Microsoft’s monetization strategy by managing the pricing lifecycle and evolution to new commerce with focus on agility, customer success, simplicity, revenue protection, compliance and growth.


In this role, you will collaborate with Product Business Planners and a diverse team of marketers and engineers to create new monetization models, set policy, launch products, and define discount strategies to ensure optimal pricing for new and existing products and go to market (GTM) sales motions.

You will work on a variety of projects, starting with how we price products, to how each unique distribution channel influences its price, to how different geographic regions or customer segments may need unique pricing structures. You will drive strategy but also take a lead role in implementation to ensure the strategy is carried out. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Contribute to global pricing strategies that address business growth for Microsoft products through all sales motions globally.
  • Determine how to eliminate price friction between existing and new sales motions.
  • Analyze complex product and price challenges, formulate solutions, and motivate the broader organization to pragmatic action.
  • Drive strategic decision making backed by data analysis and insights from multiple sources including sales, finance, and engineering.
  • Unblock challenges by working closely with Compliance, Finance, Product Planners, and Operations and Engineering in addressing pricing solution needs.


A successful candidate will draw from many of the following desired qualifications and skills:

  • 8+ years of relevant experience in business planning, product management, pricing, strategic consulting, or field/partner/sales experience in the enterprise technology industry.
  • Solid analysis skills, developing data-driven analyses and models, turning them into insights for decision making.
  • Familiarity with commercial or consumer price modeling & strategy.
  • Track record of problem solving from conceptualization to implementation.
  • Ability to work within strong cross-functional teams, in a highly matrixed environment.
  • Adept at communicating across diverse audiences including engineering, operations, finance, and field executives.
  • Results driven and adaptable; in an ambiguous environment.
  • Interest in contributing to a diverse and inclusive team.
