How will you make an impact?
System Integration & Verification is a multidisciplinary technical team (size: +/-30 persons) that handles system integration and verification of large-scale system projects like Titan (TEM)microscopes. Our team is involved in multiple large-scale system programs in parallel. Besides system integration and verification for regular products we also work on Non-Standard Requests to deliver customer specific solutions.
In this role you act as internal customer within the R&D team. By validating our solutions, you provide insights and test results to drive and influence customer value of our products.
What will you do?
In the position of Sr. Validation Engineer Material Science, you work in a multi-disciplinary R&D System Integration Team for High End Material Science Transmission Electron Microscopes (TEM). In this team you support the team with Material Science knowledge and experience and define and execute validation and application tests of the product in the customer application with a focus on high end use cases such as EELS, HR STEM, 4D STEM, STEM-EDX. You will focus on correct system behavior and experiments to validate value and results for the customer.
This role is excellent for an engineer that has a strong customer-centric approach and loves to focus on accurate system behavior and experiments to validate value and results for our customers.
Responsibilities – Project Member Tasks:
Owner or contributor of System Verification & Validation Process
Collaborate with Project team, Application Specialists and Business Unit specialists to translate customer use cases to use case validation tests
Verify and validate new high end TEM products by executing use case tests regularly
Guide and train coworkers in executing application tests
Provide use case input during the specification and design phase of new products.
Owner or contributor for crafting System Test Documents
Suggest improvements to existing products/prototypes
Connect with program managers and/or project leaders on progress and technical issues. Suggest alternative solutions.
Communicate frequently with project partners and project members
Create PR (Problem Report) Items
How will you get there?
The successful candidate will possess the following combination of education and experience
Typically requires a University degree MSc or PhD in Physics, Electronics, Materials Science or Chemistry
Good understanding of Material Science use cases including EELS, HR STEM, 4D STEM, STEM-EDX
Ideally more than 5 years of hands-on TEM experience including interpretation of images and end results
Strong interest in systematic testing and evaluation of new technology for Material Science TEM
Strong interest in the development of future use cases
Excellent communication in English, Dutch is huge plus
Travel if needed(<10%)
