Bioprocess Engineer Downstream

More specifically, the Groningen site is a multi-product and multi-client biopharmaceutical site with development and manufacturing facilities for pharmaceutical products. Both used for (pre)clinical trials and commercial applications. The production plant in Groningen is a high tech facility operating under cGMP, where new technology is implemented continuously.
What will you do?
You will offer support technicians to execute the process right first time.
In case of unforeseen events, you will act to swiftly to restart the process without impacting the quality of the product.
You will assist in the transfer of new processes.
You will drive process improvements of existing processes.
Working in a shift pattern is required.
This position requires a lot of walking between office locations and production suites. You need to feel confident to work in a cleanroom environment in full cleanroom suit. You will be required for prolonged periods of time to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch periodically. You'll need to be able to lift, carry or move of medium to heavy weights, occasionally pushing or pulling 500L totes (on wheels). For the finer activities, you need to have a steady hand and good dexterity (for e.g. pipetting). You will use a computer and will need to be able to take in information on the go.
Knowledge of either cell culture (small or large scale) and or knowledge in protein purification (small or large scale).
Bachelor’s of Science degree, or related field is preferred.
2 years applicable experience
Equivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant work experience may be considered.
Well-developed problem-solving and communication skills.
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks
Ability to maintain accurate records
Ability to work in a fast paced environment
Proficiency with English language
Experience in a pharmaceutical environment
Familiar with Good Manufacturing Practices and Good Documentation Practices
