In this role, you have the opportunity to
Create and drive the software architecture for our next generation Cardiology applications. You will work closely with all stakeholders (development teams, other architects, product management, Quality & regulatory, service, etc) to ensure that we have a great product.
You are responsible for
Design Systems Architecture for Cloud and on-prem applications
Leading initiatives with regard to technological improvements and performing future-oriented studies with other specialists
Collaborating with the software development team on implementation decisions and technology selections.
Building on existing architectures and leveraging existing technologies and suppliers by working closely with the other architects
Employing a system engineering approach to design complete and complex frameworks and systems, at both conceptual and logical level
Documenting designs and choices. Collaborating with users and other technologists to gather feedback on those designs, and incorporate feedback as appropriate
Rapidly producing prototype designs that can be market tested and grow into products
Translating and documenting complex architectural issues to non-technical staff within the business
Guiding/mentoring junior team members in the implementation of the solutions
Leading and participating in Design Reviews
You are a part of
The architecture team within Cardiology Informatics - part of cardiology informatics R&D. The team is led by the Principal architect and consists of the other architects within the business.
To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience:
At least 6 years of experience building web-based software systems, utilizing N-tier architectures, dynamic content, highly scalable approaches, and complex security models/implementations. .NET related software stack is desired.
Experience in designing highly distributed systems for both on-premises and cloud with attention to scalable middleware, persistent data stores and microservice design concepts
Extensive knowledge of Digital eco systems and cloud. Terminology like SAAS and PAAS are very familiar and comfortable to you
Experience in OS virtualization and containerization isolation technologies and concepts as “infrastructure as code” in a DevOps setting
Experience in defining and implementing Non-functional Requirements into the core of the applications, such as security, scalability, maintainability and various levels of quality
Experience with software design concepts, practices, modern development methodologies such as Agile, Lean, TDD/BDD, Clean Code, CI/CD and common architectural patterns
Demonstrated experience working in a team environment on medical and/or personal use software
Ability to work in a collaborative environment, negotiate challenges, explain technical considerations and recommend solutions
Knows how to balance feature delivery and tech debt amortization while maintaining existing technology and innovation to satisfy business needs
Keep abreast of technical developments in own field through study of the literature and technical contacts
