Support various Global Philips innovation projects to lead and realize software quality and reliability targets in product creation projects, as a Principal Architect in Software Quality and Reliability. These projects can cover every phase of the product life cycle, e.g. complex development, product development, launch and/or sustaining.
You will be mainly involved in target setting, design in, proving and improving quality, reliability and regulatory (e.g. safety, security) aspects of the software in healthcare products. You will play a substantial role in building up global Software Reliability Expertise in Philips Engineering Services and render expertise to Philips globally.
You will use your software engineering and reliability knowledge along with proactive design and problem-solving capabilities to connect to R&D management and project teams at various Philips innovation centers, to offer and execute consultancy and engineering support activities.

The Product Quality & Reliability team is part of Reliability Solutions service of Philips Engineering Services and is a dynamic group of more than 30 specialists in the field of Reliability and Quality engineering. As part of the Q&R service, they have direct access to a broad range of product reliability test- and material analyze facilities and specialists.
All are active in designing in or improving reliability of sophisticated, innovative products and processes for our customers from both internal Philips businesses as well as external companies, located all over the world.
To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience
A Master’s or PhD degree in either Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering or SW Reliability Engineering; relevant PhD is a plus.
Minimal 10 years of experience in a professional SW development environment involving embedded software or operating systems with interests in Reliability aspects.
Certification in Software Quality Engineering (CSQE) from ASQ or other bodies is desirable.
Experience in creating software reliability plans, operational profiles, software reliability objectives, software requirement and metrics development, software development, integration and testing, traceability, and management.
Experience with Software Reliability Engineering (SRE) models including growth models.
Expert level of experience on SRE activities.
Software fault tolerant design.
Fault prevention techniques implementation, software FMEA and FTA, design for testability methods.
Fault detection and removal activities including efficient test design & test automation.
Expert level experience in code review techniques in a wide range of platforms, excellent problem-solving skills and root cause analysis in Software. Able to read and understand multiple programming languages.
Hands-on experience with both automated and manual software tests including tools from HP, IBM and Micro Focus, etc. is preferred.
In-depth knowledge and a proven track record in implementing and applying concepts in the fields of designing in software reliability and problem-solving techniques, preferably in the Healthcare industry.
Excellent communication skills, able to summarize complex technical problems clearly and concisely.
Able to act as an entrepreneur with sufficient acquisition skills and be customer focused
