Senior IT Service Manager Security | T-Mobile

A few years ago T-Mobile decided to initiate an IT Security 1st line responsibility inside the IT Department and we are now expanding. As a Senior IT Service Manager Security (or you may call yourself an Operational Security Officer) your primary goal is to ensure, by use of implementation of structured, data-driven and transparent governance and procedures, that all activities are executed by the relevant internal or external action owners.

You collaborate with experts performing contract management, IT service management and compliance management. You understand security processes and know how to improve them.

As our IT Service Manager Security, you will be focusing on the internal business demand and external security developments. You like working closely together with your stakeholders and you make sure to make changes within your own and others work, when needed.

You are verifiable and extensively experienced with generally accepted standards and best industry practices in the field of operational (telecom) security. 

Having a pro-active working attitude to understand the problems and issues we are dealing with, is important. You offer assistance, even when not asked. You are a recognized expert in IT software and infrastructure security and a professional in translating this to daily operational processes. It is important to be fully competent in multiple areas.

Your responsibilities: 

  • Lead in operational management and remediation (in cooperation with Supplier Security Officers) of high-priority incidents;
  • Coordination of technical , security, user or business profiled personnel during execution of specific IT Security Procedures (e.g. Patch Management);
  • Supervision and reporting of the operational performance and effectiveness of the IT Security framework;
  • Periodical reporting of status of IT Security, issues and risks to T-Mobile's GRC (Governance , Risk and Compliance) Department and IT Management;
  • Leadership and coordination  of prescribed IT Security Governance;
  • Lead role in translation of new Security policies in the future to executable Service agreements with external Suppliers;
  • Define, design and develop the technology road-map, in cooperation with Enterprise architects, for the security Tooling Landscape;
  • Bridging the gap between non-technical stakeholders and technical developers.

The Senior IT Service Manager Security is a member of the IT / Contract Management & Compliance team. This team makes sure that hygienic activities for IT like budget management, compliance management and security are supported professionally so our IT & Technology department can focus on IT solutions out in the field, to make them do their work perfectly.

You will report to the Manager IT Contract Management and Compliance. Your future team consists currently of 20+ colleagues and is a very diverse and multicultural team, and combines diverse specialists in various overarching non-technical, tactical IT functions, like Service managers, IAM specialists, Compliance & Security officers and Contract & Supplier managers.

You will work with non-technical stakeholders as well as development and operational teams. Outside IT you will closely collaborate with Security policy makers, Security internal and external auditors and business stakeholders with security oriented specific system ownership.

Wat breng je mee?
  • Minimum of 6 years' experience in security processes, with intimate knowledge of the full development life-cycle of IT projects;
  • Proven track record in providing strong leadership during security incident response.
  • Bachelor degree with 6 or more years of experience in technical/sciences area, preferably in Security and with a strong emphasis on IT;
  • Proven affinity with relevant security-related frameworks and in possession of relevant certifications, e.g. CISSP;
  • Knowledge of frameworks , standards and practices for Risk and Compliance a plus.
  • Very good knowledge of primary and secondary Telecom processes, preferably with proven experience in a major Telco, nationally or internationally.
  • High communication skills in English and Dutch is a plus.
