As a Senior Associate in the Philips Ventures team, you will be responsible for identification, evaluation of, and investment support for key strategically valuable early stage businesses to Philips.
You are responsible for
Identifying and developing a pipeline of relevant startups aligned with Philips Health Technology strategy
Performing due diligence on prospective investments including: technical, commercial, product, financial, market, management, reimbursement, etc.
Supporting investment professionals within Philips Ventures team and other key internal venture partners within Philips including R&D, M&A, business units and market focused venture teams
Assisting in negotiating key investment terms
Actively participating in managing Philips Ventures investment portfolio
You are a part of
Philips Ventures is the external innovation organization within Philips responsible for coordinating all venture investment activity, leading collaboration efforts between venture-backed companies and Philips, and providing investment support and newly designed infrastructure across R&D and Philips business units on a global basis to drive streamlined and consistent investment decisions. The team also manages two dedicated pools of capital launched in 2017, including a business independent venture fund (Health Technology Venture Fund), as well as a fund-to-fund investment portfolio. Successful evolution of the Ventures function will enable new Senior Associate hires to develop critical venture capital experience and progress into new senior venture investment roles on an accelerated timeline. This central team resides within the Philips strategy function, with a direct line to the Philips Executive Committee.
To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience
At least 5 years business development / venture / private equity experience in the health tech or medical device space
MBA from a top-tier business school highly preferable
International business experience a plus
Excellent academic track record
Excellent quantitative and analytical skills
Fluency in written and spoken English
