Internship IT/Business Transformation Portfolio Management Office

Job Description

Start date: mid June / early 2021

Duration: 6 - 8 months

Location: homeworking / Eindhoven

Hours: full time (40 hours / week)

Philips is currently undergoing a large transformation to accelerate growth and improve performance. For this important initiative, we are looking for interns with different study backgrounds, who can stand their ground and want to be part of this important program in Philips. You will work with the PIO/IT/BT Portfolio teams and will work directly with colleagues and managers in IT as well as with the businesses that are supported by the function’s work. Building on your academic background, innovative focus and your creative, hands on, entrepreneurial mindset you will contribute in achieving our ambition. We currently have 4 internship assignments focused on one of the following areas:

  • M&A and post-merger integration,
  • KPI Reporting, Analytics, Process Standardization & Adoption
  • Capture Value / Benefits Realization
  • Project, Program, Portfolio Management / PMO support in various IT/BT initiatives

You are responsible for

The responsibilities vary significantly and will be assigned based on your skills, experience, drive to deliver results and eagerness to outperform. Some of the topics are:

  • Support with KPI reporting on progress of Philips transforming into a healthtech company;
  • PMO Management support (various areas of Project management including stakeholder management, Reporting, Planning, Dependencies management, Risk management and more)
  • Assist in rolling out and monitoring the Philips Project Management methodology in the IGT-D program (M&A PMI)
  • PMO Management support for EU MDR (European Medical Device Regulation).
  • Supporting and driving User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities for various projects
  • Support in Capturing the value case using Value Driver Tree concept within PIO
  • Assist in rolling out and monitoring the Philips Standard Project Management methodology in PIO
  • Pro-active monitoring of action plans in collaboration with the PMO Lead

You are part of

You will be part of the Philips Implementation Organization (PIO) Team, which consist of multiple disciplines and competencies from interns up to senior executives. You will have direct exposure to all levels. You will be working from our office at the High Tech Campus in Eindhoven and/or remotely depending on the situation with Covid-19.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • Students currently studying towards your University degree inBachelor of Science (B.Sc.) orMaster of Science (M.Sc.) specializing in: Business Informatics, Business Administration, Economics and Finances (high focus to Project Management).
  • Previous internships in consultancy or similar type of companies is a plus.
  • Strong innovative mindset, with capability of looking beyond the process/IT-architecture as such;
  • Strong analytical, problem solving skills combined with a strong business sense and a drive for business impact and the ability to manage and organize both your own work as well as projects and senior executives meetings;
  • A strong capability to run several projects in parallel, which obviously requires a strong capability of Project Management.
  • An open and globally oriented work mentality, combined with a true self-starting character which will contribute to the overall team;
  • Solid spoken and written English skills;
  • Good/advanced level of Excel and other MS Office apps is required.
