The Philips Domestic Appliances (DA) legal team is newly formed and looking for an enthusiastic corporate & compliance legal counsel that delivers results, takes ownership and wants to be part of our exciting journey of making every house a home.
As Corporate and Compliance legal counsel you will be working on a wide variety of matters, from corporate housekeeping tasks and creating and roll-out of compliance trainings, to implementing new (digital) ways of working and processes aimed at ensuring risk management and compliance across Philips Domestic Appliances’ business groups, functions and markets. You will be providing legal advice on basic matters relating to competition law, anti-bribery and data protection and be working with diverse teams with highly experienced professionals in a/o Finance, HR and Legal.
We are looking for a candidate with an entrepreneurial mindset to shape this role and who is eager to support the overall growth ambition of Philips Domestic Appliances.
You are responsible for
Activate and maintain a DA compliance framework organization by developing GBP training & awareness for employees and manage ethics line and support investigations.
Provide legal advice on basic legal compliance matters relating to privacy and data protection law, competition law and anti-bribery and anti-corruption law.
Manage outside counsel spend by preparing quarterly spend overview, analyzing spend, managing (use of) preferred law firms and seeking for efficiencies for outside counsel engagement
Claim Reporting Tool by preparing quarterly overview on claims and litigations and assessing, analyzing and aligning with the Finance function.
Corporate Housekeeping such as perform operational tasks like notarizations, power of attorneys, director changes, incorporation of legal entities, corporate name changes, etc.
Initiate projects and processes aimed at standardization for matters, such as digital signatures, contract approvals and PoAs, central contract storage, NDAs and data subject requests.

The Domestic Appliances business of Philips will soon be separated from Royal Philips, and is a global leader in kitchen appliances, coffee, garment care and home care appliances. It has successfully launched groundbreaking products such as the Airfryer, full automatic coffee machines with the easiest to clean milk system LatteGo, the PerfectCare Elite steam generator and SpeedPro Max Aqua cordless vacuum cleaner. The Domestic Appliances Legal team is focused on providing pro-active and top-notch practical support. The Legal team consists of ~20 legal counsels with ~15 nationalities and operates globally. This position will be based in Amsterdam and reports to the Lead Counsel Corporate & Compliance
To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience
Bachelor in Law with 5 to 7 years' work experience;
International in-house or private practice experience;
Proficient English language skills;
Experience with, or affinity with Legal Compliance (a/o anti-trust, ABAC, privacy);
Pragmatic and hands-on, ‘can-do’- mentality;
Prefers working on a variety of matters (all-rounder);
Truly enjoys working in an entrepreneurial, professional and fast-pacing environment, with accompanying responsibilities;
Team player, likes to work closely with business at all levels;
Curious, eager to learn and capable of working independently;
Good presentation skills;
Capable of bringing structure in complex matters (LEAN practitioner).
