Unilever’s business in Europe delivers E10bln Turnover and above average profitability & cash to the company. The market is very competitive and trade dynamics continue to put significant deflationary pressure on prices. Traditional big box format customers are in decline, whereas new channels and formats are growing. And although the aggregative market growth in Europe is modest, the underlying market segments see very differentiated growth patterns. Europe’s strategic aim to generate +1-2% topline growth, deliver consistent cash contribution and accelerate its category and channel portfolio shift. In this context, it is critical to land innovations successfully and drive all GM%-lever opportunities vigorously.

Under Connected 4 Growth, Unilever’s ambition is to become a much faster, more agile business which operates more closely connected to the consumer and the customer. Country/Category Business Teams (in text used as abbreviation: CCBT’s) are a cornerstone of driving business results. To leverage the opportunities of a European market and fully integrate global Category Strategies into Europe’s operations, four Cluster Category Leadership Teams (CCLT’s) ensure the differentiated Category strategies are deployed successfully across Europe.


European Supply Chain organization is at the core of the European Operational Model. Through its significant factory footprint in Europe, the regional Supply Chain supplies the four European Performance Management Units (EU PMUs) as well as a variety of other Unilever Units and 3rd party customers.

As part of Fuel for Growth/Symphony program, the ambition has been set to drive holistic end to end program, playing with all levers to create Gross Margin Improvement opportunities. CCBT has been identified to own the full P&L with joint business ownership and accountability across the organization.

The supply chain organization in Europe is structured centrally. Reporting into Category Supply Chain Finance Manager, the role of CCBT Supply Chain Finance Analyst is pivotal to create and strengthen the interlock among CCBT, Supply Chain and Categories to drive fuel for growth agenda forward.

CCBT Supply Chain Finance Analyst will focus on:

  • Performance Management: Educating CCBTs on their understanding of Supply Chain cost performance
  • Value unlocks: Bring forward specific frontiers which requires CCBT ownership to optimize and/or reduce supply chain costs
  • F4G Governance: Provide timely visibility of Supply Chain part of F4G agenda, enabling CCBT to pivot and accelerate gap initiatives


Performance Management:

  • Engage with relevant CCBT and SC partners (CCBT lead & CCBT Finance Business Partner) to explain monthly supply chain cost performance.
  • Sign off on the monthly/quarterly FC and Actuals commentaries for their PMU/CCBT – ensure connect with PMU SCF leads
  • Set up supply chain /CCBT on-going drumbeat to stimulate end to end decision making
  • Lead specific deep dives into hotspots where actuals are not in-line with the forecast or gap to target along with the CCBT finance and SCF manager
  • Proactively communicate to CCBTs in case of significant impact from any upcoming development (e.g. inflation, cost impact of volume/demand changes etc)
  • Facilitate CCBT trainings for specific supply chain cost topic (relevant cost bucket owner will lead the training) to improve CCBT understanding of Supply Chain costs

Value Unlocks:

  • Create visibility of CCBT x Supply Chain decision interdependencies and implications on E2E SCC, specifically create awareness and stimulate focus on key value unlocks, for example:
  • Product Logic Savings Funnel, gap vs target
  • Complexity reduction (overview of similar products available across Europe to drive down # of SKUs, hence improving SC efficiencies & margin)
  • Stocks (highlight the cost of holding stocks, focus to drive stocks reduction and related storage costs)
  • Support CCBT Finance Manager in driving logistics/Efficient Operations spend overlap
  • Translate transformation savings impact for the CCBTs

Fuel for Growth Governance:

  • Democratize Fuel for Growth tracking to CCBT level by creating and sharing periodic F4G scorecard


  • Finance qualification MSs in Finance, MBA, CA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent
  • 2-4 years’ experience of working experience in Finance
  • Relevant working experience in supply chain finance and/or finance business partnering
  • Working experience in a FMCG company or similar industry
  • Understanding of P&L and has experience with the relevant controlling processes.


  • Growth mindset: passionate about making the Category win in the European market place and driving sustainable, competitive, profitable growth
  • Bias for action: ensuring decisions are taken swiftly across the entire value chain
  • Consumer & customer focus: understanding the consumer and trade dynamics in the various European markets and effectively deploying strategy accordingly.
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills with ability to respond under pressure
  • Ability to influence senior stakeholders
  • Strong business acumen has a natural passion for operations design and business results.
  • High level of flexibility to see the big picture but at the same time courage to deep-dive into specific areas if need arises
  • Ability to work remotely with numerous stakeholders and to develop with them collaborative relationships.
  • Always on curiosity to continuously peel the Onion
  • Fluent in English, both verbal and written
