Basic Function

Do you like to be the first point of contact for Customers and do you have a good understanding of Order-to-Cash processes? Are fluent in English, written and verbal? As an Customer Service Associate Export you manage accurate and timely execution of the marine order fulfillment process for export customers. You are the main point of contact for all customer related issues. This encompasses order receipt, coordination of product and transport availability for timely delivery, answering inquiries of sales, business stakeholders and logistics procurement & handling of customer complaints. In addition you act as a focal point in the coordination of pre-sales activities with regards to incoterms, payment terms and ensuring freight agreement availability before order entry. With exceptional order processing situations (for example customer cancelling order while order is in transit), you ares expected to work together with logistics procurement to seek most cost effective operational solution for LYB.

Roles & Responsibilities

Your main responsibilities and responsibilities are:

  • Deliver highest quality service to Export customers by handling customer requests in a timely and professional manner and by liaising with global counterparts (Asia, Americas)
  • Act as primary interface with Planning, Sales, Business, Supply Chain procurement, Hauliers and Freight Forwarders in order to serve the customer in the most efficient and effective way
  • Develop strong relationships with key stakeholders (customers, Business, Sales Account Managers, HR, SC, Finance, Hauliers, Freight Forwarders etc.) and builds an effective network.
  • Check and maintain accuracy of Customer Master Data in the SAP system in liaison with Master Data team
  • Respects all policies and procedures and proactively “lives” them.
  • Improve internal operational procedures at export area
  • Support/advice Sales-Business in defining efficient and cost effective logistics solutions reducing financial impact and maximizing margins. Initiate/participate to cost improvement projects. Deal with the complexity of all the aspects of the marine order/shipment process.
  • Support logistics procurement with volume forecasts (when available) and facilitates data related to preparing transport contracts for new customer account.

This is what you bring
  • Minimum bachelor's degree required, preferrably in Logistics or Economics
  • Previous experience in Customer Service and/or Customer Service Administration
  • Familiar with export procedures and a understanding of regulations and documentation
  • Basic IT skills (Microsoft Outlook, Office Word/Excel, SAP, SalesForce)
  • You are fluent in English and preferably one other European language
  • You reside in The Netherlands and are allowed to work here
