Job Description

In this role, you have the opportunity to

transform Philips financial processes to facilitate new business models & solution selling efficiently & effectively. Additionally, all key processes are being streamlined and standardized, applying process management principles & LEAN. Within Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) we are using this opportunity to revisit our management accounting framework and the related system architecture supporting our company’s performance management processes. You will contribute by defining & implementing improved FP&A processes and supporting systems & reporting solutions, using state of the art tools from vendors such as SAP and Microsoft. You are responsible for

  • Teaming up up with the Business Process Owners (BPO’s) for Market to Order (M2O) business processes like pricing, quotation, orderbook management and manage the impact of business transformations in these processes on key financial processes like margin bridging & forecasting,

  • Proactively initiating process improvement and harmonization of commercial FP&A processes leveraging, ensuring key enablers like data quality are addressed in close collaboration with M2O BPO’s,

  • Ensuring consistency and granularity of financial insights across the end-to-end commercial processes,

  • Driving adoption of FP&A solutions like customer profitability and solutions reporting within the commercial teams, embedding these solutions within business processes and actively contributing to communication and trainings,

  • Ensuring consistency of financial data across the end-to-end process such as cost adders used in the quotation process that need to be consistent with cost adders in the financial reporting processes,

  • Contributing to the Management Accounting Framework and Philips Excellence Process Framework,

  • Work closely together with the Business Process Experts in the team in defining the improvement roadmap, executing it (project management) and tracking progress

  • Evaluate system / process change requests and provide guidance on implementation options. Validating proposed system solutions according to process design (proof of concepts, testing, …).

You are a part of

You will be part of an international team, headed by the Business Process Owner for Financial Planning & Analytics. The team consists of ~ 20 experienced, fast-paced experts in both business processes and systems (including OneBI, BW, SAP). While being part of the FP&A team, you support the wider Finance community of Philips in laying the foundations for all of our management accounting. Your regular work location will be Amsterdam/Eindhoven, the Netherlands. Your main stakeholders are the other FP&A Centers of Expertise and you will be working very closely with the Commercial, Operations and Digital CoE in particular. You will also have regular interaction with Accounting Operations, EIM as well as IT specialists.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • Bachelor or Master in IT, Finance / Accounting or Commerce /economics,

  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience working in commercial finance or business processes related to pricing, quotation and/or margin analysis. Gained deep understanding of the data and systems supporting these processes,

  • Understands how analytics methods can be used to turn data into business insights & recommendations,

  • Requires a track record of Project & Change Management successes: in managing implementation of projects and motivation of teams,

  • Relevant experience in the process optimization and re-engineering domains, in either Philips or external,

  • Proven track record of driving or assistance in driving change in an organization,

  • Thorough and well-structured,

  • Strong affinity with LEAN processes and tools,

  • Robust conceptual understanding of process definitions and inter-dependencies on multiple dimensions combined with pragmatic approach to workable solutions and E2E process implementation,

  • Clear communication and documentation skills,

  • Presentation and visualization skills.
