Water security drives economic growth, supports healthy ecosystems, and is fundamental for life. However, this critical resource can harm as well as help. Water-related hazards such as floods, storms, and droughts make up 90% of natural disasters. Climate change is expected to increase this risk and place even greater stress on scarce water supplies. Royal HaskoningDHV is actively contributing to creating a water secure world. We are therefore looking for you to join us in this effort.
International Project Manager Water Management
Do you have international track record in water management and flood & drought resilience? Are you looking for a very interesting new challenge? Do you want to have a leadership role in a very dynamic team working on developing our international project portfolio? Are you team player that enjoys mentoring motivated younger colleagues to further develop themselves as consultants? Then we invite you to apply for this job!
As international project manager water management, you will play a leading role in the international projects within the Business Line Water. You will be leading or supporting more complex projects in the field (ground)water management and flood & drought resilience in cities and river basins. For example, we currently work on international projects like the Mekong Delta Integrated Regional Master Planning in Vietnam, a study on worldwide opportunities of water storage for the World Bank, and the flood resilience of Changi Airport in Singapore. As international project manager, you are responsible for internal management of budgets, risks, planning, contacts with clients, and contract management. You are able to attract clients with your added value and you actively contribute to our external business development by using your own (and our) network and contacts. You have a commercial mind-set and like to hunt for leads and proposals.
You will become a key contributor to international business development within the Advisory Group Water Management. You will work across the various advisory groups in the Business Line Water, to develop client relations and acquire international projects together with like-minded colleagues. Many of the international colleagues you will work with are based outside the Netherlands (in countries like Australia, Indonesia, Vietnam, Philippines, India, South-Africa, Mozambique, Poland and United Kingdom). We work as a team to achieve our goals, but Royal HaskoningDHV is also a company that very much stimulates and supports their staff to take initiative and self-manage. Your interest and motivation will determine how your career will develop, but we are sure you will enjoy the ride.
With your experience, you will play an important role as a mentor of younger colleagues and help them to develop their consultancy and project management skills. Leading by example and coaching will be an important, but also fun part of your work. But then again, there is also enough for you to learn, and we offer many possibilities to further develop your skills.
You will become part of company which is a global leader in the field of water management delivering eye catching local and international projects.
You will work together with colleagues with great consultancy skills and strong in connecting industry, environment, and society. This perfectly fits with RHDHV’s focus of “Enhancing Society Together”. In fact, RHDHV won in September 2020 the Global Water Awards for “Water Technology Company of the Year” for its significant contribution to water sector innovation
There are plenty of possibilities for growth in the role. Naturally, a beautiful company such as Royal HaskoningDHV offers many more development opportunities! We stimulate internal mobility and thus also autonomy in making development choices.
In addition to that, we are one of the largest Dutch engineering firms: innovative and realistic, perfectionistic and decisive, surprising, and reliable. Anytime and anywhere! That is Royal HaskoningDHV. Do you recognize yourself in this role? Then this might be your opportunity! You will have an excellent working atmosphere, working in a dynamic organization with around 100 direct colleagues in the Water Management advisory group, in which organizational and personal development take central stage.
Our assessment and rewarding will be based on your personal competences. We offer a wide array of personal development courses. Furthermore, you’ll receive an excellent package of flexible terms of employment.
