Senior Investment Manager Private Credit

The Investment Management team (CIO) is amongst others responsible for setting the investment strategies for the internal balance sheets and driving the execution through internal or external asset managers and origination platforms.

Within Investment Management we have grouped different investment strategies into key areas. For each focus area there is one person that takes full responsibility for the selected asset category.
For the focus area Private Credit the investment universe is defined as non-listed credit investments to corporates. This can be senior loans, mezzanine loans or unitranche loans. The current investments are mainly organized via external managers, specializing in Direct Lending and Mezzanine loans. Commercial Real Estate Debt is a sub-asset class which should be further investigated.

We are looking to add a Sr Investment Manager Private Credit who will take ownership of the full scope and drive the investment strategy for our balance sheets.

Key responsibilities:

• Monitor developments for existing and emerging investment strategies in the Private Credit investment universe
• Create an ongoing house view with regards to relative value
• Design an investment strategy for investments in Private Credit, which will be part of the integral investment plan for the internal balance sheets of AEGON NL
• Search and / or develop sourcing strategies for the selected investment strategy
• Takes ownership of internal approval process and onboarding in the operations and processes of selected managers / investment platforms
• Ongoing monitoring of the selected managers / investment platforms, including assessing the credit risk in each underlying investment
• Delivers relevant input for setting of economic risk parameters and regulatory capital requirements for selected strategies

Requirements

As Sr. Senior Investment Manager Private Credit you are a dedicated team player who is very much process orientated. You have very strong communication skills with ability to liaise with various stakeholders at all levels within the organization. You have solid experience of financial products and markets. Furthermore you have full-fledge understanding of institutional markets.

Moreover, you have the following qualifications:

• A Master's degree in Econometrics, Finance or Business (Cum Laude graduate)
• Extensive knowledge and experience in the Private Credit investment universe (> 7 years)
• Proven track record in the implementation of different investment strategies and realizing exceptional returns
• Good understanding of requirements with regards to prudent person principle for investments
• Good understanding of Tax / Finance / Legal implications of investing in Private Credit
• Familiar with capital requirements (Solvency II) in Insurance for the investment universe
• Familiar with ALM / stress testing / (stochastic) scenario analysis
• Strong verbal and presentation skills Dutch and English
