In this way Unilever creates critical mass in expertise areas to ensure that the technologies ultimately bring benefit-led, breakthrough innovations to the markets. In addition, we aim to evolve our R&D sites into innovation ecosystems to leverage the knowledge and expertise of external partners.

For the R&D team in Wageningen we are looking for Specification and Foods Labelling Technologist. The job holder will be primary focusing on creating product and labelling specifications for Foods Europe, assuring speed to market availability of R&D data and our e-commerce agenda as well as manage specifications and labelling data for a portfolio of Foods products on European market.

MAIN JOB PURPOSE

• Create and maintain high quality product and labelling specifications in desired IT systems for products developed by Unilever R&D formulators or third party. Make the specification compliant with European Food Law. Verify it against regulatory rules, quality standards and model specs in cooperation with product developers, regulatory, supply chain, project teams and ingredient experts.
• Delivers specifications and labelling data for innovations and data projects and coordinates its delivery among other team members. Manage timing of own and team tasks in cooperation with project leader, pro-actively communicates status and issues with project teams. Assures product and labelling specifications on-time pass approval step in Unilever digital tools.
• Manage a portfolio of product and labelling specifications of high standard, assuring full consistency with European Foods Law and quality requirements of Unilever IT systems. Drive standardization and simplification of product and labelling data together with Digital & Data and Formulation teams. Seek for uplifting of data quality in line with changes in food law, growing market demands and Unilever strategies.
• Drives digital & data culture in Unilever R&D being ambassador of IT tools and digital processes.

KEY REQUIREMENTS FOR THE JOB

• Education: MSc degree in Food Technology, Food Law, Commodity Science, Biotechnology or similar relevant area.
• Experience: European food law and labelling. Management of technical documentation for foods products.
• Languages: Very good English (speaking and writing).
• Excellent computer literacy (Excel). Favorable knowledge about management of databases, Power BI.
• Very good communication skills, ability to work in multifunctional and multicultural team.
