We are currently looking for Enterprise Risk Management Oversight Professionals.
ING is implementing step-by-step the Enterprise Risk Management Framework, focusing on the Non-Financial Risk (including Compliance) types first, while full implementation adding the Financial Risk types will follow in the next phase.
Enterprise Risk Management empowers all employees to stay a step ahead in developing sustainable business by continuous improvements of the risk framework to execute effective and efficient risk management.
The Enterprise Risk Management Framework sets out the design principles for the development of effective and sustainable risk management for all business lines, for all ING entities and all subsidiaries.
The detailed design, implementation and future maintenance of the Framework is managed by the newly established Professional Practice Unit (PPU), for now, part of the Non-Financial Risk domain with a functional reporting line to Compliance.

The specific role and responsibilities of the PPU are:
Owner of the Enterprise Risk Management framework
Owner of the bank wide ING Policy house
Coordinator of Horizon Scanning Process
The PPU will comprise of three Centres of Expertise:
Centre of Expertise Enterprise Risk Management Framework
Centre of Expertise 2nd Line of Defence Gatekeeper Function
Centre of Expertise Horizon Scanning
Your role will be in the Centre of Expertise Enterprise Risk Management Framework.
Centre of expertise Enterprise Risk Management
The Centre of Expertise Enterprise Risk Management Framework is responsible to align the various risk frameworks across all risk domains within ING in order to create a consistent enterprise wide risk management approach. Furthermore the CoE will drive the risk culture in line with the
Enterprise Risk Management concepts assisting ING to make balanced risk-reward decisions across all risk types.
The Enterprise Risk Management Framework is the key policy for risk management.
Enterprise Risk Management is a process to continuously, consistently, and timely identify, measure or assess, monitor, analyze, mitigate, and report on current and future risks which could potentially impact strategy and objectives set by ING.
As owner of the Enterprise Risk Management framework you are responsible for:
1. General Principles of Risk Management in ING (= overarching ‘rules of the game’);
2. Alignment and consistency of all underlying frameworks of Non-Financial, Financial, Model & Strategic risk (initial focus on Non-Financial Risk, including Compliance);
3. Creating an integrated risk approach in terms of risk categories /risk types behavioural/culture, key messages of risk management, etc.;
4. The oversight role of the Enterprise Risk Management framework implementation (maturity level) in Business Units and Head Quarters.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for a Functional Oversight Professional
You are an expert in one or more (Non) Financial Risk management risk types.
You have a strong understanding of ING’s business, have product and process knowledge and are able to cope with ING’s complex environment.
You can create an integrated view on the risks of ING in relation to the strategic goals of ING Bank.
You can switch in roles to ensure a mix of content, seniority and organisational sensitivity.
You support and independently challenge, advice and decisively impact responsible management to increase the effectiveness of the Enterprise Risk Management Framework.
You have a strong understanding of the internal and external customer and are able to translate solutions to business language and bring a message across consistently.
Your ambition is to continuously anticipate and adapt to a changing environment.
What will you do?
You are able to read the risk management reporting of ING’s business units and have knowledge and understanding of the data applied to drive decision making. You challenge the outcome of the risk reporting in your contacts with (senior) management.
You develop an independent view of the quality of the risk reporting of the businesses and the reliability thereof.
You are able to create an independent view of implementation of Enterprise Risk Management and underlying frameworks in the business units.
You can judge the level of maturity of risk management in the business units and the effectiveness of their risk management activities.
You report on Group level the effectiveness of the Enterprise Risk Management Framework group-wide and provide input for the Risk & Capital Integration (R&CI) department
You build consensus with management about the issues and actions to solve them and are capable of mobilising management.
You are skilled to edit Policy documents.
You work together with subject matters experts in risk management, senior management and stakeholders to plan and execute Enterprise Risk Management.
You use your risk management skills and business knowledge aligned to business objectives to deliver high quality support and challenge.
Your education, experience and background
HBO or Academic level
In-depth knowledge of the banking industry; products, processes, procedure and systems;
Firm knowledge of (Non) Financial Risk and the frameworks that go with it
You have at least 5 - 7 years of work experience, preferably in various risk management domains and business
Learning Agility and innovative mind set
Excellent collaboration skills and ability to work across functional and geographic lines
Firm on principles
Strong analytical skills and sound judgment
Excellent writing/editing skills
Fluent in English
Effective stakeholder management, building bridges and able to explain the rationale of the actions required
Working and acting in accordance with ING’s Orange Code
