We are seeking a Strategic Deal Executive to work with our Deal Leaders, focusing on closing large, complex deals. The ideal candidate will possess knowledge of the enterprise deals, data center exits, and cloud migrations coupled with a track record of working on large, complex, multi-year deals. In particular he/she will:
§ Work with leadership to drive to closure AWS’ largest and/or most strategic deals.
§ Focus on large, complex deals at various stages, but may take on deals in other areas of AWS business.
§ Partner closely with Sales Leadership Team and field sales organization.
§ Shape or reshape deals to best meet the needs of our customers and leverage AWS’ capabilities.
§ Have the ability to earn trust with and influence C-level executives at customer organizations and within Amazon.
§ Ensure optimal deal resourcing, approach, and product mix.
§ Resolve deal escalations.
§ Support, coach, and develop large deal closing capability. Develop scalable strategies to enable winning key strategic deals.
The ideal candidate will possess both a sales background that enables them to drive an engagement well as technical understanding that enables them to easily interact with software developers and architects.
He/she should also be a self-starter demonstrated ability to think strategically and analytically about sales, business, product, and technical challenges with the ability to build and convey compelling value propositions and work cross-organizationally to build alignment. In addition, this executive ideally possesses:
§ Deep knowledge of Cloud/Database/Scalable Object Storage.
§ Successful track record of supporting large, complex deals.
§ Extensive experience leading and influencing cross-functional deal teams.
§ Customer relationships at the CXO level.
§ Exhibits excellent business judgment.
§ Ability to empathize with a large company’s existing legacy – people, process, or technology – and help map a way forward.
§ Hires great people, develops great people.
§ Has relentlessly high standards.
§ Thinks strategically, but stays on top of tactical execution.
§ Expects and requires innovation of their team.
§ Thinks big and has convictions.

§ BA/BS in Computer Science, business or related field
§ MBA a plus
