BE - Head of Commercial Development

Goal of the position

The Head of Commercial Development is responsible for directly managing the Commercial Development Team and, indirectly, the Marketing & Communications team ((including the launch of commercial campaigns and PR activities). Further responsibilities include sales management, business support, implementing the ABN AMRO Belgium's market strategy towards an innovative market, communication and marketing policy in order to enable and contribute to the achievement of Private Banking Belgium's objectives on an annual basis.

Core Position Focus - I

2.1 Commercial Development

The implementation, monitoring and analysis of the value propositions and strategic commercial initiatives, in close collaboration with the Strategy & Transformation department, the CCO and CEO Private Banking.

This includes the following strategic themes:

  • Co-Development of a dedicated commercial impact analyse per segment and region/Branch
  • Sustainability
  • Prospection methods: uniform guidelines on prospection
  • Synergies within ABN AMRO Group
  • Sales Management: measurement, analysis, defining action plan
  • Value proposition on domains as E&E, Sustainability, Next Generation and French Client segment

2.2 Sales Management

Sales management consists of 3 main blocks:

Commercial management support with data analysis: reporting and analysing sales, market and performance data (sales figures, profit margins, rates, customer data, results of marketing and PR actions, actions and products of competitors, etc.).

Client revenue & offer activation: using the data analyses to define, in close collaboration with the Strategy & Transformation department, modification/improvement of commercial and operational activities.

Prospect sourcing, follow-up and coordination: exploring the market and collecting, monitoring and analysing recent local developments (through internal and external sources) that have an impact on the financial markets in order to provide the commercial network with concrete support in their prospecting activities and relationship management.

Core Position Focus - II

2.3 Business Support

In general, the focus of the Business Support team is on the one hand roll-out of regulatory projects (MIFID II, CRS, FATCA, ,…), and on the other hand supporting the CCO and the commercial network on operational first line issues.

To define more in-depth:

  • Facilitate Operational & regulatory projects;
  • Supporting CCO in daily commercial business/ Operational steering of branches;
  • MSD Product Ownership;
  • Complaints handling ;
  • Monitoring AGRC, IMAT’s and audit recommendations;
  • Filter and translate internal topics to commercial network;
  • Coordination of all Commercial Assistants Community.

2.4 Marketing & Communications

The Marketing & Communications team has the task of establishing and implementing a policy in the field of marketing, communication (online and offline – internal and external) and public relations. The aim is to support the commercial organisation by striving for a solid market positioning of ABN AMRO Private Banking in Belgium, as well as a strong brand, image and name profiling, and finally to build up smooth internal and external communication:

  • Internal / external communication;
  • Brand- & Content management;
  • Event planning and organisation;
  • Digital marketing;
  • Client satisfaction surveys (NPS)
Core Position Focus - III

2.5 People Management

Directly leads the Commercial Development team and, in consultation with HR, ensures that the staffing of the team is optimally filled.

Conducts interviews in the context of recruitment & selection (if necessary), talent & performance management.

Ensures a pleasant atmosphere on the work floor, where the interests and needs of the customer are central in addition to achieving the results.

Guides and coaches team members in achieving their objectives and in their personal development.

Translates the team objectives into personal objectives for the team members.

Keeping oneself continuously informed on evolutions and developments in the field of clientele, keeping the knowledge up-to-date in function of the evolutions in the market in order to strengthen the credibility by offering a service that is continuously based on updated knowledge.

Representing ABN AMRO externally in the Private Banking market in Belgium as well as at the head office with the aim of giving ABN AMRO Belgium a place and a voice.
