Position Overview
The Public Relations Specialist supports the planning, development, and execution of regional public relations and communications initiatives across Latin America. Reporting to the PR Manager for the Latin American Region, this role is responsible for driving strategic PR programs, media engagement, events, and related activities that positively position and promote the brand and its products throughout the region.
This position works closely with regional PR managers, marketing, product teams, agency partners, and media stakeholders to ensure cohesive messaging and impactful brand visibility.
Roles & Responsibilities
EVENTS & MEDIA ENGAGEMENT
Miami Lifestyle Program
- Manage and execute a year-round pan-regional program for Latin American journalists and vetted influencers.
- Coordinate event logistics and collaborate with regional PR Managers to identify and invite top-tier media representatives.
- Arrange and coordinate interviews with local management.
- Host and manage visiting journalists from arrival through departure, ensuring a seamless and premium brand experience.
Regional Press Launches
- Plan and execute regional press launch events in partnership with host markets.
- Oversee all event logistics, vendor coordination, and on-site execution.
- Host media at local and regional launch events as required.
- Serve as liaison with Pricing and Product teams within PLA.
- Develop and prepare press materials, including product launch presentations and PowerPoint decks.
PRESS FLEET MANAGEMENT
- Oversee administration of the PLA Public Relations press fleet, including budget management, maintenance, fueling, and scheduling.
- Coordinate on-location product photography with external photographers.
- Accompany media during press drives and events, serving as the primary point of contact.
- Provide key product information, coordinate interviews with subject matter experts, and arrange tailored photo and video opportunities as needed.
COMMUNICATIONS
- Partner with the PR agency, serving as liaison between PLA and the PR Agency.
- Lead and manage content development for the PLA LinkedIn channel.
- Maintain close collaboration with Marketing to identify synergies and ensure aligned messaging across initiatives.
CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY (CSR)
- Serve as the operational lead for regional CSR initiatives.
- Coordinate and manage the alliance with the NGO TECHO, including oversight of the regional construction calendar and ongoing follow-up.
- Organize and promote employee volunteering opportunities throughout the region.
Qualifications
- Bachelor in journalism, communications, public relations, engineering or related field.
- 5 year experience in Public Relations, Communications or similar.
- 3 year experience in the automotive industry, and knowledge of the industry’s language.
- 3 year experience in events organization.
- Bilingual English-Spanish.
- Impeccable writing, speaking and grammar skills in Spanish and English.
- Full use of Microsoft Office. Adobe Photoshop and InDesign desirable.
- Strong knowledge of the Latin American region and its journalist environment.
- Ability to travel 50% of the time
Physical Requirements
- Some requirements could be:
- Driving and maintaining company vehicles (fuel them, take them to the car wash)
- Carrying Porsche banners
