For our SSL INEUR Head Office in Hamburg, we are looking to fill the position of Working Student Business Controlling (f/m/d) at the earliest possible date.
The Working Student Business Controlling supports the Business Control team in financial reporting and analysis, and the budget process. This role contributes to decision-making through accurate reporting and data analysis in international dynamic shipping environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support in the preparation of monthly financial reports and investigation of discrepancies
- Assist in analyzing variances between actual results, previous forecasts and budget
- Support budget preparation
- Assist the business controller in profitability, revenue, and cost analyses
- Work closely with Trade, Operations, Cargo Flow and other business departments
- Perform research and data analysis to support management decisions
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's programme in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Shipping, Logistics or a related field
- Strong interest in financial controlling and business analysis
- Fluency in English, French will be a plus
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, formulas)
- Knowledge of Excel Macros, Power Query, QlikSense, or other data analysis tools is beneficial
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Proactive and able to work independently
- Previous internship or student experience in finance, accounting, controlling, or data analysis is a plus
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP, OneStream) is advantageous
