Supply Chain Manager Consumables (m/w/d), Consumables


Job summary
We are seeking an experienced, results-oriented Instock Manager for the German Consumables business who will thrive at solving complex supply chain and inventory management challenges. You will own developing business plans and will oversee supply chain and inventory management. You will lead cross-functional initiatives to improve customer experience, business operations, and overall cost structure of the businesses.

Are you interested in working at the interface between supply chain, supply chain tech teams and Amazon's vendors and customers? In this high visibility, high impact role you will develop an in depth understanding of Amazon’s commercial frameworks, operational processes and programs. Underpinned by this, you will set up processes and lead projects and programs that drive operational (vendor-) performance, automation and/or improve the end-to-end supply chain from vendor to customer in Amazon's fast moving consumer goods business. You will partner closely with our commercial and operational teams to identify opportunities for P&L efficiency and directly drive short term and long term initiatives to improve our supply chain performance. In addition, you will work with large vendor accounts to improve daily operations that will maximize product availability and minimize delivery speed for our customers, whilst reducing our overall cost to serve.

Successful candidates will be those able to prioritize well, communicate clearly, and have a consistent track record of delivering results. They should also have a strong customer obsession with the ability to dive deep, have superb data/analytical skills, a self-starter spirit, and experience working with cross-functional teams. This role will require close collaboration externally with vendors and internally with operations, technology, and finance teams.

Key job responsibilities
• Own E2E vendor engagements for DE and EU Consumables. Work with commercial owners, central project teams and vendors to define E2E supply chain improvement goals and drive their achievements.

• Set up processes to engage with vendor accounts locally and pan-EU to drive operational excellence improvements. Drive coordination with the local- and pan-EU supply chain and commercial teams. Monitor and report on progress for these accounts.

• Analyze data to understand key drivers for supply-chain cost and come up with recommendations and actions based on these findings.

• Clarify and drive project priorities and commitments as well as establish clear chains of project management and accountability across multiple geographic locations

• Partner with technology and operations teams to prioritize and implement process changes to improve the Consumables supply chain.


For this position, we expect:
• University degree in Business or a Supply Chain discipline, or similar degree with analytical bias.
• Experience in inventory planning, operations, retail, consulting and/or finance, with a history of owning/driving results
• Proven track record of managing and executing large projects from start to finish, including project management, data gathering and modeling, problem solving, and communicating recommendations
• Business fluency in English and German


Further qualifications would be a plus:
• Analytical skills, capable of turning raw data into information and insights
• Team oriented with strong written and oral communication skills, and able to effectively manage multiple projects with a high degree of accuracy and meet demanding timelines
• Ability to work independently, strong attention to detail, and a passion for driving process improvement
• Background in delivering cost-savings through operational improvements in supply-chain or ordering processes
• Ability to influence and inspire action in others, with or without a direct reporting line
• Proactive attitude and willingness to roll up sleeves and dig deep to achieve high level goals
