Category Purchaser MCM VNI (m/f/diverse) - limited for 1 year

As electronics content is significantly increasing in new car architectures and technical complexity is a major driver for new technologies, we as purchasing organization want to shape and drive these trends from material perspective. We engage with all major semiconductor vendors in projects across Continentals product portfolio.

For the below described position we look for a Category Purchaser (m/f/diverse) Team Microcontroller (MC) and Memory (M) with technical background and/or affinity.

These will be your key tasks and responsibilities:

  • Partly responsible for supplier strategy and market analysis reflecting Business Units requirements
  • Performing annual price and contract negotiations
  • Implementing negotiation concepts during sourcing to create the basis for procurement success
  • Working with cross-functional partners (m/f/diverse), such as R&D, Quality Assurance and Logistics to select and develop the best suppliers (m/f/diverse) and to establish an optimum supply chain
  • Supporting improvement programs with suppliers (m/f/diverse) and Business Units (for example Design to Cost, Cost down measures and Introduction of new technologies)
  • Planning, steering and monitoring of material field-specific targets, their implementation and results
  • Compiling and presenting information related to sourcing process to management committees (m/f/diverse) with cross-functional partners (m/f/diverse), such as R&D, Quality Assurance and Logistics to select and develop the best suppliers (m/f/diverse) and to establish an optimum supply chain

Fähigkeiten

  • Academic degree in Engineering, Business Administration or comparable qualification
  • Experience in Purchasing, Controlling, R&D, Project Management or comparable experience
  • Exceptional mathematical problem solving skills and project management skills with strong attention to detail and agile results oriented negotiation skills
  • Good German and English language skills (written and spoken)
  • Strong team contributor (m/f/diverse), comfortable in collaborating with crossfunctional and multi¬cultural teams in a highly active, fast paced environment across multiple time zones
  • Excellent presentation and written communication skills to various levels of the internal and supplier organizations
