Category Purchaser Plastic & Rubber Components (m/f/diverse)

Supporting the development of a material and supplier’s strategy:
  • Conduct market analysis
  • Supporting the strategy definition with cross-functional partners
  • Supporting the documentation and implementation of the supplier strategy
  • Initiating the New Supplier Introduction Process
  • Defining the annual supplier list for own material groups which are reflected in the Category strategic paper based on Continental requirements
  • Achieving best market conditions
Actively influence the sourcing process during development phase through:

Supplier selection:
  • Negotiation of prices and commercial conditions
  • Preparation of the sourcing decision sheet
Negotiation:
  • Performing annual negotiations to constantly improve the cost situation of Continental Automotive in case of escalation
  • Negotiating changes with suppliers
  • Applying negotiation concepts (like Advanced negotiation concept) to actively support & execute bundling within the respective Category
Contract Management:
  • Ensuring the fulfillment of all necessary requirements by negotiating and concluding legally binding contracts with the respective suppliers
Data maintenance:
  • Ensuring in time implementation of correct data in the respective IT systems
  • Responsibility for monthly controlling and correction of local data and target achievement
Continuous Cost:
  • Supporting re-design in cost reduction programs
  • Driving improvement programs with suppliers

Fähigkeiten

  • Academic degree in Business Studies, Economics Science, Economics, Engineering or comparable qualification
  • Preferably professional experience in the area of purchasing, material management, project management or a similar field
  • Basic management skills, tools and techniques which ensures a strategic, profit and resulted oriented handling (Balanced Scorecard, Benchmarking, etc.)
  • Basic problem solving and decision making tools and techniques
  • Advanced Risk Management
  • Advanced technical understanding of specific components
  • Profound knowledge of the Procurement Process and the Product Life Cycle (PLC)
  • Basic commercial knowledge, includes contract law etc.
  • Basic Purchasing Management (including standards of Quality system requirements, policies and norms (IATF 19649/ VDA 6.1)
  • Basic project management skills, tools and techniques
  • Business fluent English and German language skills (written and spoken) (mandatory)
  • Basic human relations skills (team skills, conflict management, open-mindedness, networking)
  • Advanced Communication skills, including Presentation and Negotiation techniques to operate in different cultures
