Amazon Monitron is a brand new AWS service offering end to end predictive maintenance solution including the sensor and gateway devices. Monitron is part of AWS Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI-ML) organisation, bringing the power of ML to new application fields.

Amazon Monitron is looking for an experienced Embedded Software Development Engineer who is equally passionate about the technology and technical challenges in embedded development as collaborating with other domain experts (cloud, UX) and communicating with business teams to enable the success of end to end solution for our customers. Our technical challenges involve low latency back-end software architecture, edge computing, applied science, and digital signal processing. We develop and apply quantitative algorithms (e.g. machine learning, computer vision) to solve real-world problems and applications at global scale.

GRUNDQUALIFIKATIONEN

· B.S. in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience
· 5+ years of industry experience in embedded software development
· Experience building or integrating with large-scale, distributed systems and cloud is plus
· Strong programming skills in at least one object-oriented language (such as C++, C#, , etc.)
· Experience in design for scalability, performance and reliability

BEVORZUGTE QUALIFIKATIONEN

· Master’s Degree or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience
· Experience working on embedded systems (Linux, Android, QNX, or other )
· Experience with the lifecycle of consumer device development and production
· Experience designing secure IoT software for embedded Microcontrollers (ESP, nRF, ARM, PIC, etc.) in a production environment
· Demonstrated experience debugging/troubleshooting embedded systems, including real- tools
· Knowledge of professional software engineering practices and best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and .
· Ability to work in a fast paced and agile development environment.
· Meets/exceeds Amazon’s leadership principles requirements for this role
· Meets/exceeds Amazon’s functional/technical depth and complexity for this role
