ABB's Distribution Solutions Division provides utility, industrial and commercial customers with safe, smart and sustainable technologies for the distribution of electricity. With ABB AbilityTM enabled digital solutions at its core, our extensive portfolio includes distribution automation products, switching, limiting, measuring and sensing devices, switchgear, modular substation packages, and related services. The role reports to the Procurement & Logistics Team Lead and is located in Mebane, North Carolina. As a Material Planner, you will be performing planning, ordering & expediting with both internal & external vendors for stock & special material. Review & release orders to efficiently secure material from outside vendors daily. Resolve all direct procurement invoice discrepancies daily. Review open PO report minimum three times weekly, update and follow up on temp out report throughout the day. Communicate expedited material and shortage arrival dates to production and warehouse team daily. Perform Standard Work as outlined by Material Leader. Utilize SAP as the ERP System of choice to procure, expedite material and to reduce excess/ slow moving inventory.

Your responsibilities
  • Plan/Order/Expedite material daily.
  • Resolve invoice discrepancies daily.
  • Ownership of parts availability.
  • Analyze material requirements and make cost effective material management decisions.
  • Maintain material ordering parameter to align with inventory goals.
  • Execution of Purchase Order Exception Message (Cancel/ Push Out/ Pull in) on a daily basis.
  • Aid in returning material to vendor & identifying/reducing slow moving items.
  • Interact Professionally with customers (internal/external) & colleagues.
  • Attend Daily Production Meeting and Report Material Shortage Delivery Dates and Expedites.
  • Ownership of Purchased Material for Responsible Product Line to Meet Inventory Goals.
  • Perform all other related duties.
  • Other tasks/ projects as assigned.
Your background
  • 3 years of experience in a Manufacturing environment.
  • Extensive SAP experience as it relates to materials processes.
  • Microsoft Office Proficiency – Outlook/ Word/Excel.
  • Strong/Competent Microsoft Excel Function Skills – Find/Sort/Print /Import /Analyze Data/Formulas (V-lookup, Pivot Tables/Charts).
  • Procurement/Inventory Management Experience.
  • Ability to sustain Planner Standard Work Requirements.
  • Possess Strong Team Player Skills and Accountability of Projects.
  • Strong Reading Comprehension and the ability to Communicate Effectively both Verbal and Written Skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, change priorities and work in high pace manufacturing environment independently.
  • Self-Starter/ Offers Solutions to Challenges/Work Overtime as Required.
  • AP/AR Experience.
  • APICS training.
  • Authorized to legally work in the US.
