In this position, you will establish and maintain a quality culture in Electrification Smart Power, controlling quality with systems, tools and teams to exceed customer expectations while ensuring sustainable operations. Reporting to the Plant Quality Manager, need to deploy and support a Quality Culture within local ABB, by assuring and controlling Quality with systems, tools, and teams to exceed customer expectations while ensuring sustainable operations. Supports and maintains the Quality Management System of the local unit. All aspects managed in line with ABB Group/Division/BU guidance.

Your responsibilities
  • Represents the Voice of the Customer within local teams. Manages a team of Engineers and technicians that is responsible to address the customer quality issues, perform root cause analysis and lead the implementation of the corrective actions to solve the customer quality issues in a timely manner
  • Set targets and measure KPIs on cost of warranty claims, First time response and resolution time for customer issues
  • Lead quality meetings with our major accounts to keep the customer updates on the progress for open issues/new issues
  • Challenges the team with customer experience feedback and input to decisions. Enable and coaches employees to evaluate risks, problems and solutions from a customer/stakeholder point of view
Your background
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic/Mechanical Engineering with 3 years experience
  • Experience to troubleshoot technical issues on our products and use testing equipment
  • Previous experience in leadership role
  • Fluent in English to deal with our customers in person, by phone and by email
  • Good knowledge of the office package
  • Ability to work in team
  • Great communication skills and diplomacy to deal with our customers
  • The ideal candidate should have at least a basic knowledge of 2 of the following principles and should be able to elaborate the concepts: lean manufacturing, 5 S, 8D reports, PPAP.
  • Previous experience in quality laboratory or equivalent (R&D lab)
  • Green belt (lean six sigma) certification
  • Master’s degree in business or Engineering fields preferred
  • Previous experience in Electrical product manufacturing units or laboratory
  • Ability to perform UL and other functional tests on MCCB and ACB family product
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
