Principal Product Manager - Product Offer Platform

Product Offer Platform contributes to great shopping experiences for our customers through a series of capabilities. From composing offers or buying options in real time and across all sellers by combining product data with price and stock information, to validating that these offers have sufficient quality to be presented to customers, to ultimately providing customers with relevant buying options that suit their needs, allowing them to express their preferences between, for instance, the best priced offer or the fastest one.

As a Principal Product Manager in the Product Offer Platform team, you will drive the strategy for these capabilities, as well as contribute to strategic projects across Zalando. Collaborating with other product managers, engineers, designers, analysts and a large network of stakeholders, you will solve complex problems, such as understanding what offers we should present to our customers and how they affect the business, or evolving the offer steering capabilities in line with the wider Zalando platform strategy.

Where your expertise is needed?
  • Drive the team’s strategy: Collaborate with the rest of the POP leadership team to define and deliver the strategy for these core business capabilities, in line with the broader Group Strategy and align it with our stakeholders.
  • Own your product: Work with the product colleagues and strategic stakeholders to set a vision for our products in line with Zalando’s strategy, define a roadmap, set the KPIs, and execute it.
  • Drive innovation: Discover new opportunities for our capabilities, with a customer-centric mindset. Assess their impact, consider them in the context of the Zalando Group Strategy, prioritize them and deliver great results in order to help Zalando achieve its goals.
  • Stay focused: Help improve our focus by prioritizing, finding the right balance between investing in strategic portfolio projects versus locally driven initiatives.
What we are looking for?
  • Experience: 5+ years of product management experience, preferably in e-Commerce. You have a strong track record of envisioning, developing and building successful consumer-facing products, ideally in an online service marketplace or e-commerce environment. You have worked closely together with stakeholders, engineering teams and analysts to deliver.
  • Effective networker: you can own and drive topics without much central steering. You build your personal network and identify interdependencies or sources of mutual value to create optimal solutions.
  • Customer focus: You have a strong customer orientation and always keep their perspective in mind. You also have service orientation and enjoy helping stakeholders overcome their challenges.
  • Product methodologies: You are diligent, detail-oriented and have the ability to prioritize requests and deliverables according to the company’s overall strategy and goals. You know how to define a product roadmap and have experience in working with stakeholders on delivering the expected business benefits. You have experience in driving products at different stages of the product development lifecycle.
  • Analytical skills: You have a structured approach to solving complex problems. You have experience in analysing data and deriving insights from it.
  • Communication: Effective communication skills (in English), with the ability to understand, analyze and clearly communicate business problems and priorities to engineering teams and business stakeholders.
