Technical Project Manager - Customer Fulfillment

Hundreds of millions of articles enter the Zalando logistics network every year. Inbound Distribution Centers (IDC) play an important role in receiving the new goods and making them optimally distributed to the logistics network for customer orders.

As a Technical Project Manager for Inbound Distribution you will have an opportunity to support the development of new logistics capabilities for IDCs and be part of redefining how the Zalando inbound logistics works. This position is part of Fulfillment Core, located in Helsinki.

By joining our team you will be closely working with engineering teams as well as internal and external stakeholders managing the project timeline and related project tasks thru design, implementation, testing and post implementation production phases. You will create and maintain project management artifacts, such as the project plan, and ensure the quality of project deliverables by e.g. structured review processes. This position requires active communication among project teams and strong stakeholder management. To succeed in the role it is essential to have strong project management and communication skills, a strong sense of ownership, customer driven mindset and drive to dive deep when necessary to solve technical challenges together with the engineering teams

WHERE YOUR EXPERTISE IS NEEDED

  • Execute project plans for design, implementation, testing and post implementation phases, ensuring project timeline and the quality of the deliverables.
  • Create and maintain project documentation (e.g. project plan).
  • Facilitate solutioning between technical teams and/or operational teams to design solutions, test cases etc.
  • Communicate with engineering and operation teams, product managers, and external stakeholders to plan and clarify technical project tasks.
  • Overcome obstacles, identify and remove bottlenecks and push your projects to success with a collaborative and solution oriented mindset. You thrive on the ability to solve both technical and business challenges.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • Experience (3 years+) as a project manager in a technical environment working with agile engineering teams
  • Technical background and ability to work on technical topics.
  • Experience from supply chain, logistics, or warehouse operations and/or EDI.
  • Excellent communication skills and a proven ability to build consensus between multiple stakeholders
  • Ability to predict challenges and seek to proactively head-off impediments. Experience defining, prioritizing and executing a clear roadmap in an agile environment
