Come and join AQUA (Advanced Query Accelerator) and be part of a new and pioneering team responsible for creating a distributed query accelerator that provides the foundation for a next wave of performance improvement and innovation in cloud-based analytics.
AQUA was designed from the ground up to minimize unnecessary data movement by using large, high-speed caches, custom hardware, and by pushing reduction and aggregation computation closer to rapidly expanding analytics data. AQUA uses hardware acceleration to efficiently filter and aggregate data and minimize data transmission over the network by sending only the results. This new capability enables AWS Redshift to run up to 10x faster than any other cloud data warehouse.
The Software Development Manager position within AQUA should have a strong track record building successful products and services and grown high performance development teams. You will be responsible to build and grow a development team, to rethink assumptions behind how traditional data warehouse services are built, how to build database services best suited for the cloud with heterogenous hardware stack and integrating AQUA with data analytics services.
You will provide leadership on complex and challenging technical and project issues. You are an expert in distributed, high performance computation, data processing or analytics. You should be passionate about optimizing the software development methodology at a very large scale, using your strong technical skills and motivation to achieve results in a fast-paced environment. You are enthusiastic about learning new technologies and industry trends and are excited by the idea of enabling and guiding your team solving hard technical challenges.

· 5+ years’ experience managing people
· Experience delivering products and services in one or more domains: large scale data analytics, highly available/fault tolerant systems, virtualized storage, distributed systems or operating systems
· Experience developing with C++ and/or Java
· Broad knowledge of customer analytics workloads and use cases, including performance, availability and scalability
· Bachelors or higher in Computer Science or Electronic Engineering with 8+ years of industrial experience
· Experience managing development and operation of complex projects in areas such as large scale data analytics, high performance computing, database kernel engineering, highly available/fault tolerant systems, replicated or virtualized data storage or compilers.
· Familiarity with Amazon Web Services
· Awareness of emerging technologies and approaches in IT
