Payment & Settlements Lead (m/f/d)

As an integral part of Allianz Partners, Allianz Warranty GmbH is an insurance intermediary and third party administrator (TPA) acting on the behalf of Allianz insurance companies. We are focused on delivering strategic products and accompanying systems to automobile manufacturers, dealer networks and FinTech companies for ancillary insurance products (extended warranty insurance, vehicle maintenance contracts, PPI in connection to vehicle financing (payment protection insurance), GAP (guaranteed asset protection - covering the shortfall between the remaining vehicle loan amount and that paid out following a vehicle write-off and tyre insurance).

As the administrator Allianz Warranty deals with the premium intake, commission distribution and claim payments on behalf of various Allianz insurers towards their B2B clients, B2C policyholders and partner companies. Reporting to the Managing Director, as the Payment & Settlements Lead you will be the subject lead team of two colleagues to assist in carrying out the tasks. Allianz Warranty is currently redesigning its internal process and IT systems and you would be able to participate in this process.

  • Responsibility for the execution of the regular accounting runs as well as carrying out internal quality controls
  • Invoicing of premium / commission to B2B insureds / clients (on behalf of various Allianz Business Units) and own fees to the Allianz BUs
  • Issuing of bordereau reports to clients and communication on invoicing / accounting topic

  • Cash management

  • Coordination of dunning process

  • Accounting with Insurers / Business Units and further support the Allianz insurer / BU accounting teams and controlling teams with reports, analyses and other activities
  • Be the contact person for internal and external auditors for payment and settlement topics

  • Sub-Project lead for payment topics when new business is implemented - coordination with the specialist departments, particularly IT and business delivery managers

Technical Skills

  • Manage closing and reporting process in line with relevant internal & external requirements
  • Ensure data correctness, quality and integrity

  • Knowledge of the local adaptation of the group accounting policies, standards and processes

  • Interface to Business Units and Clients

    Required Experience
  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in payments and settlements, accounting or finance (preferably in an insurance or auditing company)

  • Relevant legal and regulatory knowledge

  • Experience in the use of SAP

  • Experience in leading subject-lead teams / projects

  • Risk management know-how a plus

    Required Education / Certifications
  • Academic degree, preferably in finance or accounting
