Director of Engineering, Beauty

You will be responsible for building customer-centric, data-driven experiences that will revolutionise the way customers buy beauty & care products online.


  • You are the most senior leader in this org and hence own the full engineering strategy and execution
  • You hire strong talent to build up your teams and create a tech organization that is set up for long term growth and success
  • You lead an organisation of 4-6 agile Backend, Web, and App engineering teams.
  • You own the technical roadmaps and the strategic evolution of our application landscape as we simplify and automate more and more of our processes and supplier interactions.
  • You are fully responsible for all tech-related budgets and people decisions.
  • You establish a trusted relationship with your product counterpart and together define, own and execute on the long term vision and customer strategy


  • You are a technical leader, who thrives on using technology to solve complex customer problems and who enjoys understanding the underlying business processes and challenges your teams automate and simplify.
  • You are driven by building digital products and leading your team to deliver end-to-end experiences to our 30M+ customers across 20+ markets.
  • You are shaping the engineering culture; hiring the right talents to the team; developing a high-performing team.
  • You coach your leaders and teams on their journey towards true technical and agile excellence.
  • You are able to identify technical dependencies to other teams and find sustainable solutions to minimize those.
  • You define contribution models with your engineering peers to enable your teams to launch products independently
  • You work closely with your counterparts in product management and design to improve our end-to-end product development process and continuously solve some of the company’s most important problems.
  • You create and maintain strategic and tactical operations, resource plans, goals, and priorities for your function based on business and technology roadmaps and functional objectives while ensuring the team understands product strategy and technology roadmaps.
  • Provide technical direction and ongoing leadership for a department dedicated to driving a product in the center of our Platform Strategy. At the same time, you will closely collaborate with the engineering leadership team of the entire Platform to learn and share best practices.
