Senior Merchandise Planner - Designer Women (w/m/d)

As a Senior Merchandise Planner in the Designer Accessories budget category, you’re part of a high performing and passionate team. You are driving the success of one of the largest areas in Zalando by leading your team and setting the department’s long term strategic goals.

The role is located in Berlin, Germany.


  • Accountability for defining the financial KPIs and the strategy of the Premium / Designer budget category alongside your Buying counterparts and taking decisions to steer the business to reach the financial KPIs.
  • Lead the Merchandising team, manage 2-4 direct reports, support their development and ensure they focus on the right business priorities.
  • Creation of forecasts and plans for your area of responsibility that enables the identification of risks and opportunities taking into account both internal and external factors which are captured and resolved by the team.
  • Understanding of the commercial & advanced contemporary Luxury and Premium global product & market trends and are able to translate these into long term strategic goals for the budget category.
  • Lead communication across categories & other business functions to ensure transparency and enable business solutions.
  • Drive relationships with our external partners, enabling them to grow their business through joint strategies.


  • You are able to demonstrate total accountability of leading at least two end-to-end planning cycles for a defined business area due to your significant experience working in Merchandise Planning or a commercially facing analytical role. You have ideally worked within an Ecommerce retailer and with branded fashion products.
  • You have advanced knowledge of Merchandise Planning tools and processes and play an instrumental role in evolving these in Zalando to benefit the future business.
  • You have a proven track record in leading others to define, execute, and adapt mid and long term strategies in close collaboration with Buying counterparts.
  • You remain motivated, structured and resilient in very dynamic and fast-paced environments, embrace change and you are always on the hunt for solutions.
  • You lead others to understand KPIs to determine customer behaviour and implement actions that improve financial KPIs, both immediate and long-term.
  • You use your experience in coaching and growing others to support their personal and career progression.
