PostDoc - Biomolecular Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (m/f/d)
The Pharmaceutical division at Bayer is expanding its drug discovery capacities with new modalities to heal diseases with unmet medical need. A deep understanding of the functional structures and the dynamics of biomolecules, like RNA, is decisive to rapidly meet this noble goal. For this reason, we are looking for a highly motivated scientist (m/f/d) for a postdoctoral position within our Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) research lab. We offer a highly interdisciplinary working environment which gives the opportunity to grow scientifically by interacting with internal and external researchers (m/f/d) in cross-functional teams.
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform the acquisition and the structure elucidation of biomolecules (RNAs, peptides and proteins) mainly by solution state Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) spectroscopy
Perform and interpret biomolecular dynamic studies by solution NMR: e.g. ligand-target interactions, bindings, kinetics or affinities
Interact with internal and external cooperation partners on different interdisciplinary biomolecular projects
Manage one new high-field NMR spectrometer, within the NMR lab team
WHO YOU ARE
PhD degree in natural science, chemistry, or biochemistry with a proven focus on biomolecular NMR
Proven ability to perform and interpret multidimensional-NMR experiments to study the structure and dynamics of biomolecules in solution
RNA labeling background is an additional plus
Willingness to learn/use other spectroscopic techniques available, e.g. Electronic Circular Dichroism (ECD)
Structured workstyle along with passion for science and spectroscopy
Strong affinity for teamplay and communication combined with a creative and flexible mindset
Fluent in English, both written and spoken
This is a fixed-term contract for 2 years.
This is your opportunity to tackle the world’s biggest challenges with us: Maintaining our health, feeding growing populations and slowing the rate of climate change. You have a voice, ideas and perspectives and we want to hear them. Because our success begins with you. Be part of something big. Be Bayer.
