Research Engineer Sensor Signal Processing and Software for Microsystems

Micro-electromechanical systems (MEMS) are used in many applications in everyday life, such as inertial sensors in smartphones, wearables, hearables, smart glasses, or cars. Many future use cases and sensor enhancements will rely on machine learning methods operating on time series sensor data.

  • As a research engineer your tasks include the research and development of novel use cases based on signal processing and data fusion for the purpose of functional improvement, automated calibration or increased robustness of micro sensors.
  • Furthermore, you will design and integrate modern concepts of data driven development during development, fabrication and operation.
  • The proof of concept under considerations of requirements from system architecture and a use case perspective fall also within your area of responsibility.
  • You will closely collaborate in a team of experts on simulation and fabrication technology and developers in our business units.
  • Education: Master or PhD degree in electrical engineering, computer science or physics with excellent grades
  • Personality: self-motivated, open-minded team player, like to make decisions, strong communication skills
  • Working practice: analytical, structured, and result-oriented
  • Experience: with the development of embedded software under tight resource constraints; preferably experience with micro sensors and the application in embedded systems
  • Knowledge: detailed knowledge on signal processing and application of machine learning for time series sensor data
  • Languages: proficient English language skills (C1), German is beneficial
