As a Business Development Manager you will be a part of the central Supplier Management team within the Markets organization, which is responsible for all supplier relationships in the Zalando fashion store. Focusing strongly on maximization of the long-term strategic relations with our suppliers, you will have a possibility to directly impact the company’s commercial development and sustainable growth across the entire platform through increase in sales and overall profitability. You will actively analyze the relationships with suppliers, identify opportunities and drive improvements, as well as prepare for and successfully execute the negotiations together with your key stakeholders, the Category Managers and our Supplier Captains.WHERE YOUR EXPERTISE IS NEEDED
Deeply understanding the fashion industry and possessing strong analytical capabilities to identify patterns and draw conclusions from all available sources of information (ie. the market, our customers and suppliers) and propose strategic directions for improvement of commercial relations with the suppliers and maximization of the value of negotiated agreements
Partnering with our Category Management teams to define, shape and optimize their negotiation strategies and tactics, providing them with holistic support in developing the partnership with suppliers
Fostering and promoting a strategic and portfolio mindset while identifying and realizing profit opportunities throughout the whole Zalando platform
Driving our negotiation and supplier management excellence and proactively identifying and seizing chances to improve our tool development and automation
Owning cross-functional projects from initiation and requirements definition to retrospective and post-project follow-up and managing all of their aspects (ie. scope, time, quality) in a structured manner and in line with the stakeholders’ expectations
