Engineering Lead - Content Creation (w/m/d)

In Content Solutions Tech, we are building content creation tools of the future to support Zalando in becoming the starting point of fashion. The team is responsible for the suite of products and integrations which enables our many users, both internal and external, to create inspiring and informative product content for our Fashion Store.

As an Engineering Lead for one of our Content Creation teams, you will shapethe way fashion items are transformed into the Zalando article catalog with your agile full stack team of ~5 engineers.

WHERE YOUR EXPERTISE IS NEEDED
  • Deliver high quality software by paying strong attention to API design, automated tests, scalability and resilience. Design microservice first and integrate machine learning. Shared time between leading responsibilities and coding.
  • Coach and technically guide your team on all levels of their career. Foster a team culture of trust, support and sparring. Manage agile team ceremonies and guide architecture discussions
  • Partner with internal stakeholders from planning to delivering business value quickly & continuously. Understand our business and innovate fast in a rapidly changing legal and technical landscape. Shape and champion an inclusive culture and diverse team environment
  • Align cross functionally with product managers, applied scientists and data engineers. Join the department’s leadership team to support strategic initiatives
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
  • Tech Acumen: 8+ years hands-on experience in designing, developing backend services and distributed systems. Knowledge of content management systems or our stack which includes Java, GoLang, Scala, Kubernetes, AWS, SQL (Postgres), Kafka, JavaScript/React, or Machine Learning pipelines are a plus
  • Leadership: first hand experience in tech leadership as a team lead or a technical lead coaching engineers. Cares for team health, software quality and business impact alike. Experience building & growing inclusive team environments
  • Communication: Ability to align on business requirements and complex technical topics across roles and, teams and cultures with a high level of communication skills. Be a role model for an inclusive team culture
