Principal Product Manager - ZMS

As Principal Product Manager in Zalando Marketing Services, you will shape the future of Europe's biggest fashion ad platform. You will own the data and machine learning infrastructure which is a key component in driving marketing value to Zalando brands. You will interact with Zalando merchants and brands as well as Zalando customers and influencers to develop a deep understanding of the relationships among customers, fashion products and fashion brands. You will work with Zalando engineers and applied scientists to build the data infrastructure and machine learning models necessary to capture these relationships and provide them to ad platform components as a means of driving efficiencies into the ZMS ad marketplace.

WHERE YOUR EXPERTISE IS NEEDED

  • Identify new customer, product and brand modeling opportunities, select the right solutions to focus on by understanding the value they will generate for Zalando, its customers and its merchants and then move fast to successfully execute on your ideas. You are responsible for the customer and merchant proposition and business impact
  • Act as the owner of the ZMS machine learning infrastructure: set a clear vision, smart roadmap and ambitious targets and then report against those on a frequent basis.
  • Work with dedicated engineers, data scientists and applied machine learning researchers to create highly scalable solutions and build machine learning competencies that will shape the next generation of the ZMS Ad Marketplace.
  • Manage complex and diverse inter-team relationships and lead company-wide collaborations
  • Be a mentor to other colleagues by showcasing deep expertise in your domain and acting as a role model for successful product management

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • Expertise in data systems and machine learning techniques, extensive experience in product discovery and working backwards; strong business sense and a passion for solving problems that increase customer satisfaction and drive innovation.
  • At least 5+ years of experience as a Product Manager / Product Owner.
  • Ability to define and monitor your own KPIs in order to measure your impact and success of the product
  • Analytical mindset and eagerness to build new tech solutions. You constantly apply logical and easy-to-understand frameworks to break down complex multi-facetted problems and identify underlying patterns.
  • Bridge the natural divide between business and technology and experience in agile working environments with cross-functional teams. You collaborate across multiple product areas to solve problems that matter and create clarity for audiences
  • Experience in hiring, growing and leading product managers
