Lead Business Development activities for DB Schenker’s European Land Transport business in the Consumer & Retail Vertical in cooperation with Sales & Key Account Management Teams.
•Maintain an overview of the Consumer & Retail and Land Transport Markets in Europe including competitors, capacities, prices and (potential) clients.•Provide regular briefings on market development and trends for Product Management, Key Account Management, and Pricing & Solution Design Teams. •Generate content for Land Product Sales Presentations Internal & External Marketing to promote and DB Schenker’s Consumer & Retail and Sustainability offerings.
Provide input to Vertical Strategy and Product Development.•Analyze existing business to identify, develop and implement programs to increase profitable new business in priority geographies and targeted customer segments.•Alignment of customer target lists and action plans in cooperation with Key Account Management (KAM)/Sales, Vertical Market Head, and Product Management Land.•Participate in and contribute to further development of the Sustainability agenda for Land Transport.•Provide input to the Account Planning & Development and Budgeting processes.
Lead and coordinate pan-European multi-country strategic projects.•Act as project and workstream lead for strategic development initiatives, including omnichannel and e-commerce solutions.•Manage key stakeholders across business units and functional departments to ensure targets are achieved.
Support Sales and KAM to develop profitable new business.•Coordinate activities related to major tenders & solution proposals including solution design, the commercial approval / contracting process, and implementation planning.•Participate in customer meetings and contribute subject matter expertise.•Accurately identify and translate customer requirements into specifications for solution design, pricing, and implementation.•Advise on Product Standards, Capacity / Capabilities, and Policies.•Participate in presenting, selling, and negotiating key transport solutions.•Support and promote Consumer & Retail Vertical and Key Account Development towards internal stakeholders.
•Bachelor or Master’s Degree or similar working qualification•You have multi-year working experience, ideally with an international logistics service provider or in Supply Chain with a recognized brand name in a relevant sector.•You have excellent communication skills and are a talent for driving alignment and collaboration. •Your strengths include independent working abilities as well as innovative solution thinking.•You strive for high quality, are comfortable engaging with top decision makers, and add your strengths to a team.•You are flexible, highly motivated, and available to travel all around the global Schenker network. •You are fluent in English; further languages are advantageous. •You are experienced in working with MS Office.
